Recording of Ave Verum Corpus
I am delighted to have received a recording of my Ave Verum Corpus setting, sung by the choir of the Basilica of St. John the Evangelist in Stamford, Connecticut, under the direction of Nicholas Botkins. I am posting it here, with permission.
I have nothing but praise to offer for the quality of musicianship demonstrated by this schola, and I find Mr. Botkins’ interpretation of the piece very pleasing, indeed. I hope you do, as well. The clarity of tone especially impresses me.
The schola made the recording, I understand, several weeks ago prior to the start of a Mass at the basilica.
There are probably few things a composer appreciates more than his music being sung well for the glory of God. I imagine that I am able to participate vicariously in the liturgy, even without knowing it, whenever a choir sings my music.

I love listening to this Ave Verum Corpus. The polyphonic voices of the choir are wonderful too. Thank you for composing this!!!
Absolutely magnificent and divine! I will introduce this to our Schola here in the Philippines.
Thank you so much, Paolo!
