In 2008 my aunt and I traveled again to Rome and spent a week there. We frequented our favorite spots in the city, and navigated the streets and city transport like pros. This time our hotel was a bit more out of the way, so we had to take a bus followed by the metro to get to places (whereas on our first trip we just needed the metro). Figuring out the city bus system was a little complicated, but after a day or two we knew enough to get to the major stops we needed where we could then pick up the metro.
We visited the four major basilicas and spent a lot of time at the Vatican (and we decided to again climb the stairs to the top of the dome of St. Peter’s).
